End-to-End Synchronization of Material and Information Flow
A continuous goods and posting flow in production logistics ensures that physical material movements and system postings between warehouse and production match. When postings are triggered directly on the shop floor based on events and documents, inventory can be posted transparently and accurately right up to the workstation.
Reliable replenishment signals from production ensure a takt- and demand-based line supply from warehouse stock; time-consuming reversals and search times are eliminated, shrinkage is reduced, and traceability remains seamless. The result is stable replenishment cycles, high delivery reliability, and a smooth production process.

SAP Digital Manufacturing as the Pacemaker of Production Logistics
SAP Digital Manufacturing (SAP DM) controls orders, work backlog, and consumption notifications directly on the shop floor and initiates event- and document-based postings in warehouse management, for example in SAP EWM.
Through Advanced Production Integration, PSA/PMR processes (Production Supply Areas, Production Material Request) are closed End-to-End; material movements are fully traceable based on HUs, supporting traceability in production logistics.
-
Replenishment Assurance between Warehouse and Production Logistics
Thanks to the system connections between SAP DM and SAP EWM, replenishment is managed based on consumption and inventory; tugger trains and AGVs are integrated via EWM/MFS or fleet managers. This results in timely, correct postings without media disruptions, transparent inventory up to the workstation, and a stable, takt- and demand-based line supply – key for efficient production logistics.
