Project company for SAP logistics looks back with satisfaction on a successful LogiMAT 2022
Augsburg, June 13, 2022. SWAN GmbH draws a positive balance after three intensive days at LogiMAT 2022. The focus of SWAN’s trade fair presentation was the in-house SAP EWM add-on “SWAN 3D-Logistics Cockpit”. The “Digital Twin” solution for SAP EWM enables intuitive interaction with warehouse inventories and movement data in logistics. In addition, the SWAN SAP S/4HANA migration projects with SAP EWM component as well as SAP EWM projects with automated material flow also aroused the visitors’ interest.
After a forced break of more than two years due to the pandemic, logistics expert SWAN is pleased about a successful LogiMAT. From May 31 to June 1, the trade fair for intralogistics and process management attracted around 50,000 visitors to its halls. SWAN was thoroughly satisfied – both in terms of the number of visitors and the individual contacts: In addition to existing customers, SWAN also welcomed many new interested parties, logistics planners and SAP partner companies to its booth. Demand was particularly strong for the SAP TM and EWM business areas. Here, the project house for SAP logistics recorded many new contacts and inquiries that hold out the prospect of exciting projects and cooperations. The SAP S/4HANA migration projects with SAP EWM component of SWAN as well as their SAP EWM projects with automated material flow also met with lively interest.

SWAN 3D Logistics Cockpit
Clear highlight of SWAN’s trade fair presence: their in-house and continuously developed SWAN 3D-Logistics Cockpit. It creates a virtual 3D warehouse image with the existing data from SAP EWM. This “digital twin” offers a realistic representation of inventories and warehouse structures in real time. This greatly simplifies tasks for users in the control station and minimizes complex, error-prone storage processes. Control is completely intuitive thanks to a reality-like 3D interface based on SAPUI5. Users can create storage tasks simply by dragging and dropping. Interrelationships are easy to identify thanks to the connection of structural warehouse elements, racks, and current inventory and storage location data in a three-dimensionally displayed space. The detection of process deviations is thus very fast. Different location and tracking solutions can also be integrated into virtual reality for asset and resource tracking. The SWAN 3D-Logistics Cockpit can be integrated as a Fiori application into any SAP EWM system and can be easily retrofitted into existing installations.
SAP logistics for automated warehouses
SWAN also offers a comprehensive service portfolio of SAP logistics applications to optimize the digitalization and automation of warehouse processes. Especially thanks to the merger with SSI Schäfer – but also with a broad partner network of other suppliers for warehouse automation and robotics – SWAN can always offer the best option from different solution possibilities.
At LogiMAT 2022, the high demand for integrative SAP solutions such as pallet planning and the SWAN 3D picking workstation for cartons as well as the SAPUI5 solution portfolio of diverse workstation scenarios was particularly noticeable.
Overall, there is also a clear trend towards new logistics facilities with automation in Europe. Difficulties with global supply chains, as in the recent past with the Panama Canal blockade or the Shanghai lockdown, are driving this development.
SWAN also creates added value when used in conjunction with asset tracking solutions from its partners to link manual logistics activities with automated systems. One possible solution was illustrated and made tangible by SWAN at LogiMAT – through live positioning of trade fair personnel at the stand.
“For us, it was not only of great importance to present our SAP solutions at the trade fair. Above all, it was also wonderful to finally reconnect after such a long time and to sink into personal face-to-face conversations,” sums up Alexander Bernhard, Managing Director of SWAN: “I would like to thank for all the inspiring impulses from the logistics community, the open exchange and the great commitment of our trade fair team on site.”
