SAP TM
SAP Transportation Management
Planning and knowing the exact location of all goods and raw materials is relevant for every step in the logistics chain. Especially when the components are in transit outside of your warehouse. It doesn’t matter whether the goods are transported using your own fleet or handled by an external third party: With SAP TM (Transportation Management) you get a powerful solution that maps all phases of the transport in your supply chain.
The direct integration of your transport management into your SAP landscape also allows you to plan and execute flows of goods and types of transport directly in the system. This strategic channeling of all processes in the SAP environment orchestrates your processes and data streams and leads to noticeable cost savings.

High-performance transport processing with SAP TM
Transport processing SAP TM supports all phases of transport for your industrial or logistics company. Thanks to the modular structure, both simple and complex applications as well as all shipping and delivery methods used can be mapped in the system – from national parcel shipping of individual items to the complete shipping of a machine system overseas.
SAP TM allows the tracking and control of your shipment over the entire transport: truck transport (general cargo, partial and complete loads), air freight, sea transport (FCL and LCL) and courier dispatch by external service providers can be mapped as well as the planning and control of your own fleets. This end-to-end control of your logistics processes, even during the shipping route, also allows make-or-buy decisions to be made in the background.
Smooth integration into your SAP landscape
Thanks to the full integration of SAP TM into your SAP landscape, existing orders in SAP ERP can be included in the planning. This dovetailing with other SAP modules and related business areas also enables complex automations in transport processing. For example, SAP TM allows the storage of prime costs or purchase rates for transport services and their ancillary costs and automatically determines the most cost-effective shipping route for each goods or resource from the data. The restrictions imposed by the legal requirements of the countries are already preconfigured in SAP TM. From the existing system data, SAP TM creates freight orders independently and fully automatically, which are then sent to the forwarding agent.

Performance-oriented configuration with SWAN
Thanks to its modular structure, the SAP transport management system is particularly flexible and can be used individually. Together with you, we evaluate your requirements before implementation and set up the optimal solution for your transport performance.
Thanks to our many years of close cooperation with customers from different industries, we know that every company has individual requirements and levels of complexity when it comes to transport processing. In addition, there are some industry-related restrictions. Therefore, every use case and every business model requires a configuration tailored to it. In the case of less complex requirements, for example, only the freight cost calculation could be used to support invoice verification at the beginning and SAP TM could only be expanded later to include comprehensive transport planning. More complex logistics and supply chains, on the other hand, require a more comprehensive pre-configuration with strong customization in the default settings and input fields for process mapping right from the start.
We would be happy to advise you on the planning and work together with you to develop the right solution for your transport processes with SAP TM.
