SWAN consistently aligns its portfolio with the operational SAP Digital Supply Chain

SWAN Leadership

Dual leadership strengthens customer centricity, standardization, and innovation

Augsburg, November 25, 2025 – After half a year of joint leadership by Managing Directors Alexander Bernhard and Matthias Martens, SWAN GmbH draws a positive conclusion: The company is consistently expanding its service portfolio within the operational SAP Digital Supply Chain (SAP DSC) suite – supported by an interdisciplinary team of consultants, developers, and technology experts.

“Our teams support companies on their path to a seamlessly connected digital supply chain: technology only has impact when it is understandable for users – therefore, we translate complex SAP processes into practical, intuitive solutions,” says Matthias Martens, Managing Director at SWAN GmbH, describing the SWAN approach.

SWAN is further developing its consulting approach for this purpose. Targeted training and certifications for employees as well as entry into the SAP licensing business mark further important milestones on the path to becoming a one-stop shop for SAP logistics solutions.

From “Products & Innovation” to “Products, Innovation & Technology”

Founded in 2024, the “Products & Innovation” department has grown into the “Products, Innovation & Technology” division and forms a central pillar of SWAN’s innovation strategy. The team identifies logistics and technology trends, consolidates product expertise, and further develops standardized product and project solutions. In addition to in-house product development, SWAN experts ensure that customer solutions are future-proof and implemented in line with SAP specifications – for example, through Clean Core–compliant architectures or integrations on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). Additionally, the team explores future topics such as AI applications in logistics.

Customer centricity and digitalization

Despite challenging conditions, the willingness to pursue digitalization in logistics remains high. At the same time, competent consulting and guidance are required to support customers in selecting their SAP logistics solutions and to accompany them on their transformation to the cloud.

“The SAP logistics world is more complex than ever; in addition to the phase-out of older logistics modules such as SAP Warehouse Management or SAP LE-TRA, SAP has recently introduced several new modules, including the SAP Logistics Management module. Our shared goal is to make these developments understandable and translate them into future-proof solutions,” explains Alexander Bernhard, Managing Director at SWAN GmbH.

SWAN therefore provides structured support as early as the definition of individual project requirements. Newly developed SWAN DSC workshops serve as a methodological entry point to define modules, integration points, and priorities and to develop a robust transformation strategy.

Growth, new business areas, and capability building

In addition to further expanding the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) and SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) areas, SWAN is developing new business fields along the operational SAP Digital Supply Chain – with a focus on S/4HANA and cloud transformations. In addition, the company now supports customers holistically in the SAP licensing business, from architecture and implementation through to licensing.

At the same time, the company is expanding its presence with new, larger office premises in Walldorf, Dortmund, and Graz. Alongside headcount growth at its locations, SWAN is internationalizing, accompanying its customers in global rollouts and cloud transformation projects, and strategically entering new regions, such as Eastern Europe and North America.

“Our goal is to create added value with every solution – for our customers, for their processes, and for the future of the digital SAP supply chain,” summarizes Matthias Martens.
