SWAN Expands Leadership Board

and Strengthens SAP Supply Chain Expertise
Matthias Martens Takes Over Responsibility for SAP Digital Supply Chain at SWAN
Augsburg, April 24, 2025 – Effective April 1, 2025, SWAN GmbH has appointed Matthias Martens as an additional Managing Director. With this experienced manager and SAP digitalization expert, the company gains a key leadership figure alongside existing CEO Alexander Bernhard to strategically expand its SAP Digital Supply Chain (DSC) business. At the same time, SWAN is reinforcing its commitment to providing comprehensive support to customers along the entire digital supply chain – from warehouse logistics and transportation to manufacturing.
25 Years of SAP Expertise for Sustainable Growth
Matthias Martens brings over 25 years of experience in digitizing supply chain processes across various industries. Most recently, he served as Senior Director Supply Chain & Procurement at All for One Group SE, where he was responsible for the SAP DSC portfolio and led a team of 75 employees. His expertise in SAP S/4HANA and SAP Digital Supply Chain strengthens SWAN’s position in the rapidly growing SAP cloud environment. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Martens has been a lecturer in Supply Chain Management at the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences in Bochum since 2019.
Clear Leadership Tandem
By expanding its executive board, SWAN is strategically advancing the growth of its business areas in SAP logistics digitalization. Going forward, Matthias Martens will focus on expanding SWAN’s consulting services beyond the traditional intralogistics module SAP EWM toward broader supply chain management. His emphasis will be on the continued development of SAP Transportation Management (TM), SAP Digital Manufacturing (DM), and SAP solutions for semi-automated and manual warehouse processes, including integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP cloud solutions. Alexander Bernhard will continue in his role as Managing Director of SWAN, overseeing the company’s core competencies in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), customer service, and solutions for complex, automated logistics systems.
Shaping the Future with SAP Cloud and Innovative Technologies
SAP’s strategic focus in recent years – especially on cloud solutions – is reshaping the demands on technology, architecture, and consulting expertise. SWAN intends to actively help shape this technological transformation and set new standards in SAP logistics consulting.
“To strengthen our position as a SAP logistics and digitalization expert, we need speed and expertise – and Matthias Martens brings both,” says Alexander Bernhard. “With our expanded consulting portfolio, we will also be offering solutions for lean or semi-automated logistics in the SAP S/4HANA environment.” The expansion of the SAP DSC area also opens up new opportunities for SWAN employees. Forward-looking topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and modern S/4HANA modules are becoming increasingly important.
SWAN Commits to Sustainable Growth
“Our ambition is clear: Within the next five years, we aim to become one of the leading SAP partners for S/4HANA logistics and to actively shape the digital transformation of our clients,” says Matthias Martens.
With its expanded solution portfolio, SWAN is addressing new customer segments and providing even deeper ERP integration for SAP EWM projects. Combined with its strong expertise in digitalization and automation, this forms a perfect foundation for sustainable growth.
